Originally launched as Wellington Ballet Theater in 2011, our Conservatory is led by Artistic Director and Director of Ballet Melissa Waters. Our Conservatory's core values celebrate artistry and collaboration. We embrace the idea that every dancer, from beginner to professional, can benefit from all that dance and performance brings to life. Through the instruction of our professional dance faculty, we work to balance discipline, focus and structure with a nurturing, positive atmosphere. We believe that our conservatory provides students with a strong technical foundation that can also be the canvas upon which they experience a love of dance, create lasting friendships and develop self-confidence that lasts a lifetime.
Our training is based in the AMERICAN BALLET THEATRE® National Training Curriculum and places a strong emphasis on artistry, dancer health and child development. For our youngest students and recreational dancers, we provide our Children's Primary Program, perfect for young dancers that want to enjoy the benefits and joy of dance and performance at a recreational level. For students who wish to advance their training, The Conservatory includes focused work en pointe, in variations, and in PBT with conditioning. In connection with our in-studio training, we provide performance opportunities at every level, producing full-length traditional and innovative ballets with a focus on providing dance theatre education.
The faculty at Dance Arts Conservatory are professional, mature and experienced. Our DAC directors and instructors are passionate about dance, theater and performance and are well respected members of the artistic community. Their collective experience is extensive, having taught at schools such as Dreyfoos, BAK, Nova Southeastern and North Broward Prep, the Palm Beach County School System, and Palm Beach Atlantic University with students performing with ABT, on Broadway, Broadway National Tour, in regional theater, and in college and university arts programs.
Our ballet programs have excellent acceptance rates into BAK and Dreyfoos schools for the Arts.
Our performance program is designed for beginner through advanced levels with ages ranging from 3 to adult.
The Conservatory Program is an opportunity for dancers to train more extensively in all dance subjects. Participating in a more focused program they will develop stronger technical proficiency, explore their individual artistic expression, and learn to embrace their developing creativity. The classes at this level range from providing intermediate dance curriculums for students who want to learn more about dance and enjoy all of the benefits that dance brings to life, to more advanced training which include rigorous classical ballet, pointe and contemporary training with supplemental classes in variations and conditioning, jazz, tap and hip hop classes are also offered at a progressed level, ideal for dancers who are seeking to develop multiple styles and techniques, transforming their passion for dance into a comprehensive, versatile dance education. DAC is committed to helping students identify their unique and individual talents and creating a training path to their goals.
